WCS. 2 September 1959. Ceduna. The RSL s annual debutante ball was a brilliant success. The five debutantes were presented to the general manager of TAA-Guinea Airlines, Group Captain Rechner and Mrs Rechner. They were accompanied on stage by the president of RSL, Colin Reincke and Mrs Reincke, the stage was decorated to represent a drawing room, with easy chairs and hanging wall vases of daffodils and huge jardinières of flowers. At the rear was a large golden coloured door frame with green velvet curtain drapes through which the debutantes made their entrance. Flower girl, Joanne Reincke and page boy Neville Betts were the first to enter ¦ the Pat Moody and her page boy, Rowley Sleep, entered and stood waiting to present each debutante with a bouquet ¦ After the King s Waltz, the debs, their partners and parents, the official party and RSL members and wives went to supper in the gaily decorated supper room ¦ dance music was supplied by Hartley Klau, Barry Kelly, G Eden and Vin Hereen, those who took part, Joyce Jones with Phillip Jones, Melva Miller with Keith Freeman, Daphne Saunders with Bob Branch, Kathleen Duffy with Leon Bubner and Marlene Kaehne with Trevor Harris.
