Fancy trying to clean this mouse eaten wheat stack up! This stack was near the hotel, on the corner where the Sports Bar is now. Thanks to Helene Bourne, daughter of Vin Irwin for this photo. In the early days there were wheat stacks between the now ANZ Bank, on the corner of the hotel, and over in front of the Council Offices. Marchant’s horse team delivering wheat. The wheat stack is right there behind the horses, on corner of hotel, hotel in background, note the dining room just visible on the right. Between 1910 and 1920. Note the corner of the flat top truck to take the bagged wheat up the jetty.
